Whereas Sudden Strike and Cossacks were based in the past, Real War is based on modern warfare and utilises the most up-to-date military equipment as currently used by the US Army. It is in fact the Commercial version of the official Military Joint Forces game being used to train the 4 branches of US Armed Forces - Army, Air, Navy, and Marines. Uncannily, the game is based on an unknown terrorist attack and a USA launch of missile attack against the terrorists.
